In my last post i mentioned that i will reseach about google adsense alternatives and experiment about a couple. The first one i decided to pick up was Chitika Ads. Chitika offers search targeted advertising solutions for publishers and claims to be the best offering good revenue. I went through 25+ reviews for chitika before deciding to give it a go. I applied for chitika publisher program and they approved my application immediately. I decided to use the advertisments on my 5 pages initially. Those 5 pages generated about 500 pagesviews per day. first 3 days there was no earning. so i decided to give it a full go and applied the advertisment through the whole website. next day there were 4500 impressions and still no earnings. i waited 2 more days and no earnings got me concerned and decided to contact their support, i explained to them that i did not get any earning despite of 18000 impressions over 7 days timeframe, and they explained to me that the earning will show up soon.

On 8th day i started noticing the earning but that was a huge disappointment, i got $0.24  for my 6000 visitors out of which 4000 were the visits from USA / Canada. i was tempted to discontinue my experiment but i decided to give it some time, which i did. Now after about 2 weeks i have an eCPM of 0.08 which is next to nothing in comparison to what i used to get from google adsense. The point to note here is that i have 95% traffic from organic Search mainly google and about 4000 visitors are from USA / Canada which is 80% of my total visits and the content on my website is technology related. 

Maybe chitika does not have adv inventory for my niche, i dont see any other reason for such a low earning. I went back to do some research and see what other people are experiencing and i notice that many users have the same experience as i have , only very few are happy with it, i wonder what is their niche or the secret of their success with chitika, but for me this does not look like it is going to work. I am going to experiment with some other adv networks, probably InfoLinks before going back to adsese. For those of you who are adsense publishers, i have an advice that dont screw up your adsense accounts as it looks like paying 10 times more than the best alternatives.I will write more about InfoLinks in my next article.
