Was just getting on with another contact form, that I've never had problems
with in the past, but am getting the above error.

 My first guess is that the host doesn't support PHP (although I'd have thought
that was pretty standard these days?)

 So I guess in the first instance, I'm wondering if I'm barking up the right
tree there, or if there's anything else I should be looking for?

 (Although I'm recycling code that works elsewhere - what's changed is the
host.)

sounds like your host doesn't support the language you are using. I would check with them first and they should have an faq on how to create a contact form that will work on their servers
