How to create transparent watermarks with fireworks?

I'm trying to create a watermark for some photos using Fireworks and I can't
figure out how to make the text transparent/fadded so that you can see the
photo through them.

Any advice or pointers would be appreciated.

Select the item you want to make translucent, and then change the opacity
slider. The opacity control is in the property inspector, on the right hand
side to the left of the blend mode, which by default is set to "normal".

Type the text, and then lower the opacity of the text. You can also
experiment with blend modes like Overlay.

A little more information. .

I've using Gallery2 so I need to create the watermark as a standalone image
and then use Galler2's Apply Watermark function to merge it with the photos.

Here's a sample of one I did that's really bad:

What's Gallery 2, and how does the apply watermark function work?

Figured it out.

I was using the export wizard.

I lowered the opacity  and saved the watermark as a png 24, uploaded it to Gallery2 and  it looks fine.

Thanks

Gallery2 is an opensource photo gallery package: http://gallery.menalto.com/ .
There's a plugin for it that applies watermarks to albums and subalbums.  For
example, if there were 10 different photographers contributing photos, each
could have their own gallery with their own watermarks sharing the same
domain/Db.
