Optimal Refresh Rate

Currently I am running dual 19" LCD screens at 1280x1024 on a 256mb 128bit nVidia 6600GS, at 75HZ and most settings set to 'application controlled'.

1. What would be the 'optimal' refresh rate, not only for photoshop but most of my pc usage?? Im NOT using a gaming system!!!!

2. What other settings in the nVidia control panel, that are defaultly enabled or otherwise, cause my system to slow down or speed up the display??

Thanks.

Cant give you an answer, but i am set at 75hz, and know that the wrong setting will give you eyestrain and headaches.

LCDs don't refresh like CRTs, which redraw the screen several times per second. Most flat panels use a backlight so the refresh should be set at 60Hz (the same as the current coming from your outlet).

Thats good to know.

If in doubt, check your LCD specs.

Yeah, it makes sense to me now, i clearly wasnt thinking when i posted this... ha ha ha ;0)

An LCD pixel is either ON or OFF, iv since backed to 60hz...
